Apply to be part of The European Delegation

Based in Berlin, The European Delegation is accepting applications from outstanding students and young professionals who will take part in this year’s HPAIR Asia Conference in Taipeh. The European Delegation provides funding for the conference participation to its members and is open for applications from now on until May 20th.

Additional information on requirements, the application process and The European Delegation itself is available on their website and as part of their call for applications.

SPAIR, the Asia network for students in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, is delighted to invite all students to apply for the 2012 South American Business Forum.

SABF will take place in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires from August 3-5, and is organized by students of the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA). Applicants must be born on January 1st, 1986 or later, and need to write a motivational essay to become one of 100 selected participants from all over the world.

Similar to the past conferences, this year’s SABF will shed more light on issues pertaining to South America’s role in an interconnected world. With 40 speakers from international corporations, institutes, and organizations, participants have a first-rate opportunity to expand their knowledge about South America. Delegates can also take part in the accompanying program and visit sites around Buenos Aires.

Applications are now being accepted on SABF’s website until May 6th, 2012.

We are pleased to inform you about scholarship programs made available to German students by the Republic of China. All scholarships are open for general application and a great way of getting to know the Republic of China, whose capital Taipei will host this year’s HPAIR Asia Conference.

Applications for the 2012 HPAIR Asia Conference in Taipei (Aug. 24 – 28) are now being accepted at the website of HPAIR. Early applications can be entered until March 31; the final date for applications is June 30.

Looking back: SPAIR seminar in Berlin

SPAIR e.V. hosted its latest seminar in preparation for the 2012 HPAIR Harvard Conference on Feb. 4th at Berlin’s Hertie School of Governance.

In light of the continuing debate on the ecological effects of economic growth in China, this seminar aimed to provide personal as well as scientific insights on the topic, with guest lectures by Dr. Stefan Taing, Dr. Niels Petersen, Prof. Yu Zhang and Prof. Martin Jänicke. Read more »

Announcement: Next SPAIR Seminar in Februar 2012

We want to welcome you to our Preparation Seminar for the Harvard Conference on Asia and International Relations (HPAIR) in Berlin on February 4th. The seminar is organized by SPAIR e.V. for the HPAIR Conference on Harvard Campus in February 2012.

After a welcome speech by the board, we will welcome Prof. Jänicke (Director of the FFU) and Dr. Niels Petersen (Max-Planck-Institut zur Erforschung von Gemeinschaftsgütern). The topic of the seminar is “Sustainability and China”; talks will be in German (Prof. Jänicke) and/or English (Dr. Petersen). The seminar is open to the public.

Under the topic of “Cross-Cultural Connections: Weaving New Silk Roads“, once again students from all over the world will converge on the campus of Harvard University to engage in talks and discussions on Asia’s present and future. The comparatively relaxed setting of the HPAIR Harvard Conference combined with the high quality of speakers and lectures make this conference an event well worth participating in. If you have any questions regarding your application and participation, feel free to contact any of us.

Accommodation during the conference can be organized as a shared room in the Harvard dorms via the HPAIR organizing committee; please make sure to check the corresponding field as part of the application.

HPAIR Asia Conference 2011

In 2011, the HPAIR Asia Conference celebrated its 20th anniversary in Seoul, Korea, where this year’s conference took place from Aug. 18th until 23rd as a collaboration of both the HPAIR Organizing Committee at Harvard University and their local counterpart at Yonsei University. As in the previous years, a German delegation traveled the distance to take part.
